Website widget

Turn your website into a quoting machine.

The same estimator you can try on the home page installs on your site with one line of code, priced from your own rate book. Every visitor who prices a job becomes a lead.

Installing it takes three steps

  1. 1

    Set your prices

Your account starts with a full default price book. Change the rows that differ from your pricing, which is around thirty numbers, and the widget quotes from it straight away.

  2. 2

    Paste one line

Copy the snippet from Settings, Widget and paste it where the form should appear. That is the whole install: no plugin, no build step, nothing to keep updated.

  3. 3

    Work the leads

Every visitor who prices a job and leaves their number lands in your inbox with the full breakdown, and you get an email about it.

The whole install

<script src="https://shatterquote.com/widget.js"
  data-key="wk_live_your_key_here" async></script>

Your real key is in Settings, Widget, ready to copy.

Where to paste it on your platform

The snippet is the same everywhere. Only the name of the box changes.

  1. Edit the page where you want the quote form.
  2. Add a block and choose Custom HTML.
  3. Paste the snippet and update the page.

Decide how much price to show

Three modes, set per widget. You can change your mind whenever you want.

Exact

Shows the number you would quote for the job. Best when your pricing is competitive and you want to answer the only question the visitor actually has.

Range

Shows a spread around the real number, which you set as a percentage. The visitor gets a useful figure without your exact pricing being public.

Hidden

Collects the job details and shows no price at all. Best when every job needs a look first, and you still want the lead rather than a bounced visitor.

What you can change

Which services appear
Windshield, door glass, back glass, chip repair: show the ones you do.
Accent colour and corners
Match the widget to your site so it does not look bolted on.
Which fields are required
Ask for a phone, an email, or both, plus an address or zip when you travel.
Reviews
Show your featured reviews underneath the estimate, or leave them out.
Price display
Show the exact number, a range around it, or no price at all.
Domains
List the sites allowed to embed it. Anywhere else gets a polite unavailable message.

Questions shops ask first

Do I need a developer?

No. If you can paste a line of HTML into a page, you can install it. The per-platform steps above cover where that box lives on the common site builders.

Will it slow my site down?

The script is tiny and loads asynchronously, so the page renders without waiting for it. The widget itself is an iframe, which keeps its styles and scripts from touching the rest of your page.

Can someone copy my key and put my prices on their site?

Only the domains you list may embed it. A page anywhere else gets an unavailable message instead of your widget, and you can rotate the key whenever you like.

What stops it filling my inbox with junk?

There is a hidden field bots fill in and humans never see, and a limit on how many enquiries one visitor can send in an hour. Anything caught is dropped quietly.

Can I turn it off?

Yes, from settings, without touching the code on your site. It stops loading immediately.
