Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ShatterQuote Software ("we", "us") handles information when you use ShatterQuote, the auto glass quoting service. It covers the shop owners and staff who hold accounts, and the end customers whose quote details a shop enters into the service.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, company name, and the authentication data needed to sign you in. We store passwords only as salted hashes and never in plain text.

Quote and customer data. To do its job, the service stores the information you enter to build quotes: vehicle details, glass and calibration selections, prices, and the contact details of the customers you quote. This data belongs to your shop. You can export or delete it at any time from your account settings.

Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number on our servers; Stripe holds the payment method and returns us a reference, the plan, and the subscription status.

Usage and technical data. We collect basic technical data such as IP address and browser type for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. Where we use product analytics, it is loaded only after you consent, as described in our Cookie Policy.

How we use information

We use the information to operate the service, authenticate you, generate and deliver quotes and PDFs, process billing, send transactional email such as quote and account notifications, provide support, secure the service, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell the customer data your shop enters.

Sharing and processors

We share data only with the service providers needed to run ShatterQuote: our hosting and database provider, Stripe for payments, our email delivery provider for transactional mail, and, where enabled, a privacy-respecting analytics provider. Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Data retention

We keep your account and quote data for as long as your account is active. When you delete data or close your account, we remove the associated records, subject to a short period for backups and any records we are legally required to retain, such as billing history.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. ShatterQuote gives account holders direct tools to export their data and to delete their company and its data from the settings area. For any request you cannot complete yourself, contact us and we will help.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, strict server-side access controls, and database-level access rules that isolate each shop's data. No system is perfectly secure, but protecting your data is a core part of how the service is built.
